Why did I develop these pickups?: Almost all bass players love a good Jazz Bass. But nobody likes the dreaded 60 cycle hum you get every time you solo a pickup. There are other hum-bucking pickups for Jazz Bass on the market but these are the only design with 2 parallel coils and traditional alnico rod magnets - giving you a fuller, warmer version of the vintage Jazz Bass tone players rely on.
Unique components, unique sound: Every part of the bobbins has been designed and made in-house to make sure it delivers on tone while fitting comfortably within standard Jazz Bass pickup covers. This guarantees easy installation without any permanent or expensive modifications to your instrument. The result is a fuller, hum-free version of the classic punchy, bright Jazz Bass tone: the perfect platform to create your own unique sound while playing the instrument you've grown to love.
Vintage-inspired construction: Alnico 5 rod magnets are seated into custom-made vulcanized fibreboard flatwork bobbins. To ensure maximum articulation the magnets in each of the four coils are uniquely spaced to match the natural path of the strings. 43-awg wire is used to get the most out of the compact space producing a DC resistance outputs similar to vintage style Jazz Bass pickups. Custom drilled pickup covers add a subtle aesthetic touch to compliment your new sound.
Fitting your new pickups is easy: If your bass is routed for traditional Jazz Bass singlecoils then the Short-Range Humbuckers will fit perfectly without any modifications. Screws and mounting foam are included. Cloth covered Gavitt hook up wire helps keep soldering straightforward and leaves the control cavity tidy.
