The PB-3 combines boutique handmade quality with unmatched versatility by incorporating tapped singlecoils & a mini toggle switch into the classic Precision Bass® blueprint.

The PB-3 has been designed from the ground up to offer 3 different DC resistance outputs at the flick of a switch - with each setting producing a unique voice. Both coils of the PB-3 have 3 live wires (instead of just 1), with each acting as a terminal for a different number of rotations of copper wire. This means that there is a choice of a short, medium or long coil offering DC resistance outputs of approx 6.60kΩ*, 10.00kΩ* and 13.40kΩ* respectively. Each setting can be accessed via a 3-way toggle switch conveniently located between the tone control and output jack.

The characteristics of each setting are as follows:

Low setting (switch in left position) - mellow and delicate with sparkling highs not usually associated with a Presicion bass® pickup.

Middle setting (switch in right position) - this is the typical resistance value for this type of pickup- classic Presicion bass® growl with a warm, round tone.

High setting (switch in centre position) - considerably more low-end and mids. Very punchy with a noticeable increase in volume.

Despite its innovative design, the PB-3 features vintage-inspired  Elektrisola 42 awg heavy formvar copper wire and alnico 5 magnets to ensure that each setting provides warmth, clarity and rich dynamics reminiscent of the golden era of electric bass guitars.
